After reports that troubled singer Amy Winehouse plans to adopt a child from St Lucia, the star's representative has shot down the "rumours" insisting that her words were taken out of context.
Earlier reports had claimed that the "Back To Black" singer had decided to adopt a child after hearing news that her estranged husband, Jake Fielder Civil is soon to become a father. But her representative said that Winehouse isn't thinking of adopting in the literal sense but instead planning to fund children' community projects in the sunny island where she is holidaying currently, ‘ContactMusic’ reported.
"Amy was talking about adopting in the context of looking after children on the island, perhaps through some kind of music and education-based project," said the singer's spokesperson.
The Grammy winning singer who reportedly plans to settle down in St Lucia had looked grief stricken when told that Civil has fathered a child with another woman, saying that she wanted to have twins of her own.
The denial comes after the adoption reports caused a stir, with doubts being raised about Winehouse's ability to bring up a child as the singer is better known for her wild lifestyle and rehab stints.
