Tom Hanks starrer 'Angels and Demons' is all set to hit the theatres in India on May 29th after getting the green signal from censor board, the distributors said.
The highly anticipated prequel to 2006 hit 'Da Vinci Code' was earlier scheduled to release on May 15 in India but "due to some censor formalities and requirements" its release date was pushed further, said Kercy Daruwala, MD, Sony Pictures Entertainment, who are marketing and releasing the film in India.
"We are hopeful of getting the censor certificate in the next few days and then after the censor process will take a few more days to clear another three dubbed versions of the movie," Daruwala said in a statement here. Ron Howard directed film is an adaptation of author Dan Brown's religious-mystery.
Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon in the movie, which also stars 'Trainspotting' actor Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, Stellan Skarsgaard and Armin Mueller-Stahl among the supporting cast. The film will release in four languages-- English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu ¿ across the country.
The makers are hoping to cash in on the long drought of Bollywood films in theatres due to the producers-distributors strike. The film was released in US on May 15.
