'Kill Bill' star David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

By Agencies --- David Carradine, Hollywood actor of 'Kill Bill' fame was found dead in a Bangkok hotel under mysterious circumstances.

The 72-year-old actor who played the title character in Quentin Tarantino's two-part saga 'Kill Bill' was found hanging from a curtain cord in his room in Park Nai Lert Hotel, Thailand's The Nation newspaper reported.  The star who shot to fame with super hit 70's show 'Kung Fu' was in Bangkok to shoot for his upcoming film 'Stretch'.

He was discovered by a hotel staff hanging naked in the wardrobe with a cord around his neck and genitals prompting speculation that the star died while performing a sexual act on himself which accidentally led to asphyxiation.  However local police has classified it as a case of suicide.

"It looks like a suicide. He was a big man and it would have been difficult for someone to move him in there and kill him in there," Pol Col Somprasong Yentuam, Chief of Lumpini police said.

Police also added that they found no sign of fighting, or intrusion or assaults at the scene. However star's manager has denied police's suicide theory.

"I can tell you 100 per cent that he would have never committed suicide. He was too full of life," said Tiffany Smith, the star's manager to US magazine People.

Carradine had been open about his past battles with drugs, alcohol and suicidal tendencies but his manager said the actor had been in good spirits and was eager to work on the current film with three more lined up when he returned to US.

"We are not saying it's an accidental death because we don't know," said Smith. "Right now we are just letting everyone know that it's under investigation and we'll see ... I just know he didn't do this to himself."

The actor's family is also stunned by the news. In a statement, Carradine's niece, actress Martha Plimpton, expressed the family's sense of loss.

"My Uncle David was a brilliantly talented, fiercely intelligent and generous man," Plimpton said.

"He was the nexus of our family in so many ways, and drew us together over the years and kept us connected. I adored him as a child, and as an adult I admired and respected him. We will all miss him terribly," she added.

Amitabh Bachchan's bald look in Balki's ‘Pa’

By BollywoodHungamaNewsNetwork

With summer at its peak, everyone almost goes for a crew cut or maybe a completely tonsured look. But one visit to the sets of Pa has a totally different story to tell and see. Everyone's ground fell apart when realised that the fully tonsured man (which also included his eyebrows!) was none other than Amitabh Bachchan...yes...you heard it right...the Legendary Amitabh Bachchan. And this look of his is not in tune with the summer and its heat. Instead this is how he will look like in his forthcoming film Pa which stars him alongwith beta Abhishek and Vidya Balan.

‘Pa’ is being directed by the ad whiz R. Balakrishnan (popularly known as 'Balki') and who had earlier directed the Big B-Tabu starrer ‘Cheeni Kum’. Even though every minute detail of this film is being kept under strict wraps, rumors have it that the film is about a child who ages much faster than any normal child would do. If you thought that the adjoining picture of Big B took the daylights out of you, then, let us tell you that the real surprise of the film lies in the fact that Amitabh Bachchan plays Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan's son in the film.

News also has it that the shoot has been carried out swiftly in locations of Delhi, whereby, a team of highly qualified make up experts worked on Big B's look for a whopping 6 hours at a stretch! And the results are for everyone to see. Our repeated attempts to establish contact with Balki, the man of the moment, proved futile.

All in all, this one surely seems to be one of Big B's highly anticipated films that everyone is going to look forward to this year.

Beckham falls for 'little bum'

By Agencies

David Beckham has fallen for an Italian, but it is not a woman but a local delicacy called 'little bum' which has the football star hooked.

The dish made out of pig's hindside has become a favourite of Beckham and now he wants his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to try it, reported Contactmusic.

The soccer superstar, who is currently playing for Italian team AC Milan, was first given the food by his club's former manager Carlo Ancelotti, and the pair have been spotted eating it on a number of occasions.

"David can't get enough of this fine delicacy. It's got a much lighter and less meaty taste than most other prosciuttos. He's dying to get Victoria to try some," said a source close to the star.

Victoria who lives with the couple's three sons in Los Angeles, may soon get to try the dish as reports suggest that the family plans to reunite by moving to Milan.

The 35-year-old fashionista had decided to stay on in LA so that Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 6, and Cruz,4 could continue schooling unaffected.

Victoria regularly flies in to visit Beckham but now wants to settle with Beckham in the Italian city so that he can spend more time with the children.

"Victoria loves America but all the flying back and forward is starting to take its toll, and being apart from David has been really hard for them both. Plus, she doesn't want David to be away from the kids," said a source close to the fashion designer.

'Slumdog' kids visit Hong Kong for charity show

The child stars of the Oscar-winning movie "Slumdog Millionaire" traded the shanties of Mumbai for Hong Kong's skyscrapers today as they arrived for a charity fundraising performance.

Already media-savvy from intense coverage after the film's success, Ayush Mahesh Khedekar, Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail and Rubina Ali patiently waved and posed for photographers as they stepped into the arrival hall at Hong Kong's international airport.

Several dozen photographers from Hong Kong's celebrity-obsessed press corps swarmed the children as they made their way to a brief welcoming ceremony nearby, with 10-year-old Azhar riding on their baggage cart.

A guardian traveling with the children shielded them from interviews, but 9-year-old Ayush -- whose character in the movie famously jumps down from an outhouse so he can rush to an Indian film star to get his autograph -- said he wanted to visit Hong Kong Disneyland.

The three stars are due to sing and dance at a live broadcast Saturday to raise funds for the Hong Kong charity The Community Chest and stage performances at two shopping malls on Sunday.
"Slumdog Millionaire" is about an orphan from the shantytowns of Mumbai who becomes the champion of the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and reunites with his childhood love.

Rani Mukherjee compares Sherlyn Chopra with Sophia Lauren

In a profession that witnesses ugly cat fights due to cut throat competition, Rani Mukherjee has taken the first step of complimenting a co-artist for her performance. She surprised Sherlyn Chopra, who has a major role to play in the yet untitled Yash Raj Films production, by not just lending her tips on how to face the camera but also comparing her with none other than Hollywood legend Sophia Lauren!

The incident happened recently at BPCL Sports Club where the film, which stars Shahid Kapoor as the male lead, was being shot. Rani was in a particularly happy mood and showered praises on the girl who has not signed any other project than this Yash Raj film and is riding her luck on this single film.  She went ahead and called Sherlyn as a younger version of Hollywood legend Sophia Lauren. Since few years back, Bipasha Basu was compared with Sophia Lauren, Sherlyn was naturally ecstatic.

"Sophia Lauren comparison? Well, all I can say is that I am humbled. I think Rani has been overtly nice, but hey, who doesn't like compliments? Being someone who is so mature and serious about her work, I sincerely hope that she really meant it when she said so. I would love to keep getting feedback and compliments from an actor of her stature", smiles Sherlyn.

The 1934 born Sophia Loren is an Academy Award-winning Italian film actress. She is widely considered to be the most popular Italian actress of her time and is also famous for being a major international sex symbol.

Moreover, for the shooting of a particular sequence, even though Rani Mukherjee was not required, she still hung around to see the way Sherlyn approached her scene. Informs a source, "Sherlyn didn't have any clue that Rani was watching her on the monitor, especially for her close up shots. She was engrossed in her performance and was later told by one of the production unit members that Rani was very interested in knowing how she was delivering."

The 'bindaas' and 'outrageous' young woman is happy that she was oblivious of Rani's presence on the sets.

"Thank goodness, that I came to know about it later because I would have been conscious had I known earlier that Rani was following what I was doing. You never know, I may not have delivered my natural best", says Sherlyn who is looking at reinventing her career while leaving the disappointment of Red Swastik (2007) behind.

As per a source from the production unit, Rani was watching Sherlyn's close up shots with keen interest as she is apparently quite fond of her never ending desire to learn the nuances of the art of portraying emotions. In fact, Rani also gave her tips on how to face the camera and explained to her how important it is to know technical details of the varied camera lenses.

"Sherlyn was glad that Rani was spending so much of quality time in discussing technical nuances with her", informs the source, "Sherlyn has done only a few films but Rani has been around for so long. She is a reigning star and for someone like her to spend time with her says volumes about her humbleness and professionalism. She was being a friend as well as a mentor, a good combination indeed. Who wouldn't want to learn from a senior actor like her?"
